Book launches, Giveaways and Redesigns!

Hello Romantics!!!

I’ve been on a reading hiatus but, I’ve been keeping up with some of my author acquaintances who have some great things going on!

To start with, Ms. Sandra Bricker has released the second book in her modern fairy tale series called Rise and Shine.

This is the story of a woman named Shannon who has just woken up from being in a coma for almost 10 yrs! (Can you imagine it?)

When she went into her coma it was 2005 then wakes up, and the year is 2014! During that time, her husband dies from a rare form of cancer and her best friend has gotten married and had 3 kids. Not only that but, things like smart phones, tablets, and reality television have come into being.

Never fear though, because there is a handsome doctor, a loving aunt, and a wonderful best friend who are more than willing to help her get her bearings in this strange new world!

You, Dear Romantics, are in luck because this wonderful read became available today! (I just got my copy this week and I’m ending my hiatus just so I can read what happens next!)

If the Shoe Fits by Sandra Bricker

Hello Romantics!

I’ve been a bad blogger recently. I’ve left you hanging. Waiting for the next great read and all I can do is apologize for my silence over the last few weeks.

If you are a reader of my personal blog I will be sure to explain some of my craziness in the next blog post there.

Today, however, I want to rave about a book that will be released this Saturday, June 1st!

The book is If The Shoe Fits by Sandra Bricker.

Now you might say, “Didn’t you just do a review of one of her books?”  The answer would be yes but when I get a book I like I have to tell people about it.

If The Shoe Fits is a modern retelling of my favorite fairy tale Cinderella!

Julianne (Cinderella) is an up and coming lawyer in Cincinnati. She is on her way to court in a rain storm when she comes to an abrupt stop because someone has stopped to save an injured dog.

All of a sudden the clouds part and a light shines on the tall handsome stranger carrying the dog. Julianne is now convinced that this is a sign. He had to be her “Prince Charming”.

Or is he?

What follows is a funny, laugh out loud story of Julianne discovering  that life isn’t a fairy tale and that “Prince Charming” could be the person she least expects.

Since this is a modern retelling of Cinderella, there isn’t magic or fairies but there are some great elements from the original story that is used.

Julianne has a fairy godmother in the guise of her best friend and style guru Suzanne. Who provides Julianne with her “glass slippers” for an big award ceremony, as well as a complete makeover for the big day and a stretch white limo.

The part of the evil step sisters is played by a rival lawyer by the name of Lacey. A woman who brings new meaning to the phrase “snide remarks”.

Then there is Prince Charming. Is he the Stranger who saved the injured dog or is he her other best friend Will? The man who has been in her life since childhood.

Seems to me you are going to have to read the book to find out!

Allerednic: A Regency Cinderella Tale–In Reverse by Chautona Havig

Ask just about any Romantic what their favorite fairy tale is and most will probably say the story of Cinderella.

I mean it has it all! A wicked step mother, a poor girl who is actually rich but is bitterly mistreated and her inheritance stolen, A handsome Prince who falls in love with her and whisks her away to live happily ever after (sigh), and a Fairy God-mother who helped to bring it all together.

Now what happens when the stepmother is a loving woman, the father is still alive, the girl is still rich and holds a royal title, and the handsome prince isn’t a prince per se?

You get Allerednic!

Now you may ask how in the world could you still have the same classic story?

Well you don’t!  You have something totally different yet the same at the same time!

Since any description I would try and give wouldn’t quite do this book  justice I’m going to post the description straight from the Amazon page.

Lady Charlotte Eversley, heir of the Earl of Everston, has lived a charmed life. Wealthy, beautiful, and one day she will be a Countess in her own right. No mother has ever loved a daughter more. Her sisters admire and adore her, and of course, her father dotes on her. She is one of the most eligible ladies of the Season.

Mr. Jasper Seyton misses the country. Along with his trusted servant, Worley, he endures the delights of Town for one purpose. After three Seasons, he has little confidence in the so-called “Marriage Mart.”

They enjoy each other’s company, and her father approves. She knows he intends to propose. He knows that she will accept.

So where is she when he returns to Everston Hall, and why does she think there is no hope for happiness again?

Allerednic: Cinderella–reversed.

Now after reading this description I’m sure you are wondering what in the world could the plot twist be and where is the Fairy Godmother when you need her?

That my dear Romantics is why you need to read the book!

There are twists and turns throughout the plot and most importantly this book is also an illustration of God’s love for us.

So please click on the link below and download this wonderful book for yourself.
